Tishman Speyer is an international owner/developer of commercial real estate and a prominent investment manager. The company has been in existence since 1978 and has roots that go back to the late 1800s.

The Opportunity
Tishman Speyer’s Equity Capital Markets group (ECM) is responsible for raising equity to capitalize the firm’s global, commingled real estate funds and direct investment vehicles. The offerings are regionally focused and cover the U.S., Europe, Brazil, India and China.  There are 14 active Tishman Speyer funds which were raised between 1997 and 2008.  In 2011, the company is sponsoring several investment opportunities which are in different stages of capital raising.

ECM consists of two teams which work closely together, Relationship Management and Project Management. The Relationship Management team markets to investors of all types in most regions around the world. The firm has more than 100 limited partners and works with 200 or more prospective investors.  The Project Management team interacts with all parts of the company and takes responsibility for product development, marketing materials and PPMs, modeling, investor due diligence requests, and competitor and market research. Project Management also deals directly with institutional consultants and works with senior executives and with in-house and outside legal counsel on investor negotiations and closings.   ECM has staff members in London, Frankfurt, New York and Shanghai.

Tishman Speyer is seeking a Director of Project Management reporting to the Senior Director of Project Management.  This positionn is based in NYC.  This is a high-visibility position within the firm and can involve working with investors and consultants. It requires an experienced person energized by working collaboratively with accomplished professionals across the company, being responsible for multiple tasks simultaneously, and leading and completing projects to exacting standards.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Overseeing and participating in the completion of RFPs, RFIs and regular information updates issued by consultants and institutional investors regarding potential real estate investments with the Company  both for fund investments and direct/joint-venture investments

  • Gathering and synthesizing transaction-level and market updates from regional asset managers, crafting them into cohesive and well-themed briefs for marketing materials or interim client updates.

  • Developing compelling copy and layouts for investor presentations and offering memoranda (PPMs, pitchbooks, teasers) based on a comprehensive understanding of Tishman Speyer, the objectives of a specific investment vehicle, and the nature of the target audience

  • Participating collaboratively with Project Management staff in activities related to investor due diligence requests, market research needs, competitor tracking systems, web site updates, and other matters that arise in the course of investor relations

  • Keeping multiple relationship managers apprised of the delivery status of client requests, completion date of marketing material development, and share relevant information and analysis across the department

Position Requirements:
At least 6-8 years investment management/real estate experience.
Knowledge of investment real estate and fundamental real estate finance concepts.
Very strong writing skills. A top priority.
Quantitative skills.
Success leading project teams or a record showing that potential.
Proven ability to think strategically and solve problems.
A history of working collaboratively.
Strong verbal and written communications skills for both internal and external clients.
Ability to work across multiple time-zones.
Facile at multi-tasking. Able to prioritize. Flexible in responding to changing circumstances and deadlines.
Excellent ability in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
