




Our client is a highly successful alternative investment firm based in midtown Manhattan. Founded in mid 1990s, the firm manages over $5bln in assets for an institutional client base and has a broad investment mandate.
Opportunity
Our client seeks to hire a mid to senior level member in their Marketing team to focus on raising capital in the corporate, public and Taft-Hartley pension plan world with the end goal of raising long term capital for the firm’s three investment funds. Ideally, this individual will have a proven track record of success in a fundraising role with a real estate private equity firm.
He/she must be able to articulate the firm’s competitive advantages to institutional consultants and direct prospects, and manage a complex sales process to a successful conclusion with limited reliance on portfolio management teams. The successful candidate will be expected to identify prospects in the pension community and cultivate long term relationships, while demonstrating a strong track record of success in developing new business from this channel. Our client is a highly collaborative and collegial firm; the successful candidate will be expected to work in partnership with other members while meeting individual performance objectives.
Candidate Qualifications & Experience
- A highly consultative style that involves an in-depth knowledge of the full range of the firm’s strategies as well as a holistic understanding of prospect needs
- Knowledge of the real estate and mortgage markets along with investing strategies
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in either the marketing or investment side of a real estate private equity fund
- Experience with investor management along with executing an organized and systematic institutional sales process
- Proven track record of success in managing relationships with corporate and public pensions
- Excellent academic credentials from a highly regarded academic institution
